Immersive Research

The journey began with diving deep into the rich heritage and culture of Kolkata, a city steeped in history, art, and traditions. I sought to uncover the stories that define the City of Joy. By studying books, articles, documentaries, and interacting with locals, I pieced together a roadmap to explore Kolkata’s multifaceted identity.

Capturing Human Essence

Kolkata's heartbeat lies in its people—their warmth, resilience, and artistic spirit. I focused on capturing candid portraits of locals in their everyday life, Each frame aimed to tell a human story, revealing the city's soul through its people.

Exploring Landscapes & Architecture

From the iconic Howrah Bridge and the serene ghats of the Hooghly River to the grand Victoria Memorial and the lively streets of College Street, I shortlisted locations that represent Kolkata’s cultural. Each landmark told a story, creating a visual balance between heritage and modernity.

Ideation & Visual Storyboarding

Once the locations and themes were identified, I began visualizing how to bring Kolkata's essence to life on screen. The idea was to create a narrative that felt immersive, allowing viewers to experience Kolkata as if they were walking its streets, breathing its air, and living its moments.

Production: Capturing the Narrative

Equipped with my camera, I set out to capture the essence of Kolkata. Each frame was composed to highlight the interplay of light, shadow, and movement, from the golden hues of sunrise at Princep Ghat to the bustling energy of Flower Market. I immersed myself in the city’s rhythm, ensuring every shot resonated with authenticity and cultural depth.

Post-Production & Delivery

In the final stage, I brought the visuals together to craft a cohesive story.The final sequence was designed to evoke nostalgia, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for Kolkata’s heritage. Every frame carried a deeper meaning, immersing viewers in the city’s charm and leaving them with a sense of presence.
