Immersive Research

Ahmedabad, a UNESCO World Heritage City, is known for its deep-rooted history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture. My journey started with exploring the heritage walks, uncovering stories of the pols (traditional neighborhoods), and studying the intricate architectural styles of the city’s monuments. By understanding its cultural and historical significance, I aimed to connect with the spirit of Ahmedabad.

Capturing Human Essence

The soul of Ahmedabad lies in its people. From artisans in the pols crafting timeless works to the warmth of locals at bustling bazaars, every moment reflects the city’s vibrant character. I focused on capturing candid moments—the joy of families visiting temples, the skill of craftsmen preserving ancient traditions, and the energy of everyday life in the old city.

Exploring Landscapes & Architecture

Ahmedabad’s architectural landmarks are a testament to its rich history. I highlighted the grandeur of Jumma Masjid, with its unique blend of Hindu and Islamic artistry, and the intricate wooden carvings of Swaminarayan Mandir. The Heritage Walk through the narrow lanes of the pols revealed hidden treasures, including centuries-old havelis and carved facades that tell stories of the past. These elements became the heart of the visual narrative.

Ideation & Visual Storyboarding

With the research and visuals in mind, I began planning the narrative to bring Ahmedabad’s essence to life. Each sequence was designed to flow naturally—from the calm reverence of Swaminarayan Mandir to the architectural brilliance of Jumma Masjid and the bustling vibrancy of the pols. The goal was to immerse viewers in the city’s atmosphere, making them feel as though they were exploring Ahmedabad firsthand.

Production: Capturing the Narrative

With my camera in hand, I explored Ahmedabad’s historic sites, capturing the golden light illuminating Jumma Masjid’s arches, the fine details of Swaminarayan Mandir’s wooden carvings, and the life buzzing through the Heritage Walk. Each shot was carefully composed to reflect the city’s character, blending the serene beauty of its monuments with the dynamic energy of its streets.

Post-Production & Delivery

I brought together all the visuals to create a cohesive narrative. Through detailed editing, I ensured every transition felt seamless and immersive. The final film captured the essence of Ahmedabad, celebrating its heritage, people, and architecture while inviting viewers to experience the city’s charm and history through my lens.
